I just picked up a 2024 ZR2 Bison 1500 with the 6.2L V8 and am looking to add spacers. After doing some research, I found that a lot of people recommend the Bora 1.5" spacers because they supposedly don't require trimming the OEM studs. However, when I went to install them last night, I found out that trimming the OEM studs is necessary. I don’t want to go any bigger than 1.5” and I’d prefer not to do any trimming. Does anyone have suggestions for other options, or would the best route be to change wheels with an offset?

Offset is always the better answer, especially for heavy offroading or towing. -12 offset is about the same as 1.5" spacers.

You don't have to trim the lugs if you hog out the wheels with a die grinder. Either way your moving metal. You'll feel better about it after the first couple cuts.

How is increasing offset (pushing tires further out) better for towing or offroading?

Reread this thread from the beginning and use some logic and see if it makes more sense the second time around.

Then read my thread on the crooked ass AEV bumpers and get me an answer on that bullshit your'e sending out the fucking doors.

Then quit acting like a know it all you insufferable little prick. I've seen four posts from you and I'm already tired of you being a bitch.

That escalated rather quickly 🤠…I believe his point is that leveraging a rim with offset to get the desired look is advisable vs spacers when doing off-roading or loading/hauling. In other words, you’re introducing more opportunities for failure with spacers vs a wheel with offset.

LOL.........I would have answered it exactly that way and added that you won't lever the lugs as much and you also won't have to trim them. But I don't have time for bullshit!

Wow! Take a Geritol and chill out a bit. Not defending anyone, but no need to get so upset. We're just here having a good time.

Just asked a question.

Are you saying choosing a wheel with a better offset is better than wheel spacers?

I will look into your question on the bumpers.

It's a forum. It's here to help people. That's all I am doing.

I read your post on "crooked ass AEV bumpers" and in your post you proved it is not only an issue with the AEV bumpers but also the "regular" bumpers.

All of the AEV bumpers get 3D scanned before being sent to GM to be installed on trucks to ensure quality. It is out of AEV's hands how it gets installed on the truck.

There is also a possibility that the bed is not on the frame perfect, or it's at a far extreme of the tolerance. Same thing with the cab. I don't know what the tolerances are for each of these items to be assembled, but they are not .001".

Why didn't your customer service hacks get back to me when I emailed them three times with photos then? Get with GM and fix your shit. You should know how they are mounting up and address the problems. If there are tolerances that need to be accomodated, then you should install adjustable mounts or corner bracing. I shouldn't have to solve the problems for you or GM.

Now that I've got your attention. Why the hell did you make the light cutouts on both the front and rear bumpers so they wouldn't accommodate any standard lights readily available on the market? The rears are too small and the fronts are five sided fer crissakes. But I fixed that mess too and made a detailed post about it as well.

I'm not sure what your design or production team is good at, but you missed a lot of details on this gear.

I don't know who you have contacted. The regular bumpers probably don't have any adjustments either.

We also didn't make light or light cut outs for the front bumper. People assume that. The rear bumper works fine with the way it was done.

I feel that AEV is the best. Show me another aftermarket company that is making parts, on this level, for an OE car manufacture. Could it be better, maybe.
