Video on Future Diesel emissions regulations

I realize I am in a unique situation. I'm very fortunate.
I do the same, depending on how I financed the vehicle. I usually trade my vehicles in at around 2-3 years. But I don't rack up too many miles on my vehicles. I bought my 19 Trail Boss in 2021 with 4k miles on it. I traded in on my ZR2 a few months ago and it only had a little over 20k miles. And my wife's 22 SUV that we just traded in last month was bought brand new, but only had 4k miles on it when we traded in. So I generally get a good trade in price cause of the relatively low mileage.

I don't ride a Harley. I have an American made Victory Cross Country.

Why keep them so nice for the next owner? Use em and enjoy em.

That was my thinking. If I only put 4k miles on a vehicle in 3 years. I'm not sure I'd ever trade it for a new one. Take you 4 years to get a Diesel past break in, lol. I've got friends that trade ever two-3 years, but it's cause they rack up miles.

It's not that I don't drive my truck much. I drive truck and operate heavy equipment and work 12-14 hours a day, and where I park my company truck is only 3 miles from my house. So 6 days a week I only drive about 18 miles.

Correct...Under contract by Fuji Heavy Industries. Fuji builds motors for Polaris and a number of small equipment companies...Even some for Suzuki.
You might be right about some small equipment companies, maybe even some other Polaris motors, but the Victory Freedom motor was built by Polaris and only Polaris. That's one of the very few things Polaris got right.

and they carried that motor over to the Indian. The only decent part of the Bike.

I drove this 2015 2500HD Duramax for 9 years, my boy has driven it for close to 2 years. It has 95k ish miles. Only work it's had done is 9th injector and def temp sensor during warranty. Lower ball joints, nox sensor, and cracked AC line replaced post warranty.

It'll probably only last another 10-15 years, so by then it will cost about $250 month to own it. I spend that on groceries every week.

The longer you drive them (pre 2020), the less expensive they become.

I stand corrected: From the 2021 10K statement - "Pursuant to informal agreements between us and Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (“Fuji”), Fuji was the sole manufacturer of our two-cycle snowmobile engines from 1968 to 1995. Fuji has manufactured engines for our ATV products since their introduction in 1985 and remains a supplier of engines to us. Fuji develops such engines to our specific requirements. In addition, we had entered into an agreement with Fuji to form Robin Manufacturing, U.S.A. (“Robin”) in1995. Under the agreement, we made an investment for a 40 percent ownership position in Robin, which built engines in the United States for recreational and industrial products. The Robin facility was closed in 2011 as the production volume of engines made at the facility had declined significantly in recent years. See Note 9 of Notes to Consolidated Financial Statements for a discussion of the Robin agreement. We have been designing and producing our own engines for select models of snowmobiles since 1995, for all Victory motorcycles since 1998, and for select ORV models since 2001. Consistent with 2011, during 2012approximately 60 percent of the total vehicles we produced were powered by engines designed and assembled by us."

The only diesel motorcycle I know of is the Kawasaki KL650-A HDT (KLR) that runs on Jet A. So unless your Harley or Victory can roll coal I don't want anybody blowing heat about it in a diesel thread.

It's all good. We're just having fun.
