Service Contracts - Extended Warranties

What do you think about Ally 's service warranty? I had Ally on my 2015 Silverado Z71 when the motor dropped a couple lifters and they replaced the motor with a brand new GM 5.3L without giving any problems whatsoever. Just had to pay my $180 deductible.
Ally's contract program is offered by Universal Warranty, a recognized company. It's covered by an insurance policy issued by MIC Property and Casualty Insurance Corporation which A.M. Best assigned a rating of "A-". Anything "'A-" or higher is deemed acceptable in the contract industry.

I cannot speak to the customer service of Universal.

Well, that gives me a little bit of hope. The dealership that I deal with likes to push Ally Service Contracts. I had a good experience with them in the past, and after your comment, I won't hesitate to use them again in the future.

If it says, "Obligor: GM Protections, LLC", it is a genuine GM service contract. Under "Settlement" of the GMPPs, it should say, "Our obligations under this Agreement are fully insured by a Service Contract Reimbursement Insurance Policy issued by Virginia Surety Company, Inc., 175 W. Jackson Blv...." Virginia Surety is one of the largest service contract insurers in the world. It's an $8B company.
It may not say that on some GMPPs because not all states require this. Let me know if you want me to look at a specific one for you.

Knapp is genuine GMPP. https://www.knappvehicleservicecontracts.com
I'm trying to get a quote from Knapp for my 2022 ZR2.
All I get is emails saying they sent a quote, what do I want to do?
I looked at James Black Cadillac, can't see an option to put in my info.
I am not the best computer guy!
If I'm going to buy a plan it'll be the Platinum, my ZR2 has all the technology stuff, don't want to pay for that stuff!
Info: 2022 ZR2
36,553 miles
Factory bumper to bumper expires 04/2025
Drivetrain expires 04/2027

Any info is appreciated, I'm sure the folks on this board are appreciative as well!

Check your eamil spam or junk folder, it might be hiding in there.

I won't swear to this, but I think you'll have to end up reacting via telephone no matter who you go to, simply because the dealership websites are generally not linked to their POS systems like Reynolds and Reynolds, DealerTrack, CDK, etc. Those systems are what generates the contacts...Not many dealers use paper contracts anymore. Your info gets entered, it prints you a copy, and your info gets transmitted to the contract administrator.

You are correct. You can get a quote on line but it requires a phone conversation with the dealership to purchase it since they will need various bits of info for the contract.
