I have a 24 silverado-ZR2-hd-Diesel--with the factory retractable running boards
they have very good lights that come on at night when the doors open-
At night at home or just in a parking lot it can be difficult to see where you are while parking--looking at the cameras both sides are really dark and it is hard to know what you might rub up against-
I thought that i could tap into those step lights -with a panel switch to supply the voltage while parking at night--would be a big help-would also help while manuvering off road at night--
Question is where to tap in--and since they are led's what issues would i have other than just tapping in a 12 volt line to turn them on--using a double pole switch on the dash--Thanks in Advance--hh

Thank You AXE for the suggestions--the pod track might help a little but it want it to fill in better on the sides- -I was hoping I could find someone with knowledge of the wiring system who could tell me about the voltage requirements for he step lights-and the best place to tap in-they would provide all the light required to use the cameras to keep from scraping a pole or driving off an unimproved road --hh
