So I had my zr2 in the shop today and the dealer put in a new high pressure fuel pump. He said the old one was only putting out 1300 psi instead of the 1600 required. Also found out that the engine was replaced at 14k miles. I bought it with 17k. I don’t know why it was replaced but I guess that’s one thing I don’t have to worry about. Probably a bearing I’m guessing.

In some ways, I think that's a good deal for you. You got new engine and didn't have the hassle. Might want to talk with the dealer and see if they will give you a full 3 year motor warranty since they didn't disclose.

There are plenty of 6.2 motor failures due to bad main crank bearings, some con rod bearings, some lifters.

I might change the oil now and then take samples and send them in every 5k for analysis. I have a thread on my oil samples you can check out.

Thanks!

I saw the carfax. Absolutely nothing said about engine replacement
Exactly. If a repair facility isn't subscribed and doesn't report, you won't see it.

This was the basis for the CarFax lawsuits regarding insurance reporting. Insurance companies were reporting to them when collisions occur, which reduced the value of the vehicle. People sued to get reduced value payments from insurance companies. Some have stopped reporting. CarFax is not always accurate.
