I did the Peak 2.25 summit kit on my 1500 and installed it since new, and have about 1500 miles on it. The ride seems a bit hard over road bumps. I asked Peak about coil-overs, and they said it would ride better, but they were surprised, as most say it rides well or even better with this kit. Does anyone else think it seems harsh? Would you recommend any other coilovers to upgrade it to, rather than the peak ones?

Did you adjust the alignment and is it level with the rear? Sometimes the height of the front being just a little lower (1/2-3/4 inch) than rear will improve ride quality.

Alignment was checked. I will check the level with the rear.

If you want an upgrade talk to Michael over at LevelUp Suspension. He's highly knowledgeable and helped me upgrade out of the peak kit I had.

If you used the Peak upper control arms that are solid (no rubber bushings) the ride is going to be harsher than stock. I say this with experience from using similar style suspension components with him joints on my lowered Ram. Personally, Peak’s upper control arms are for the “serious” off roader. Most people, myself included prefer a control arm with bushings. Having had my Dirt Kings with the silent spin bushings for the last 16,000 miles I can tell you the ride is as good if not better than stock.

Same kit I did on mine a couple months back and after the install, it rode with the same cushion as stock and felt more stable. I have the Peak UCAs with bushings and steered away from the solid style. Very happy with that choice after reading the pros and cons here. Got a squeak after the first two weeks on passenger side and filled the zerk fittings with grease, it's never come back.

Did you do anything for a lift, or just go with the 1.5" the fox gives you?

I went with a spacer between lower control arm and the strut for more lift but will raise it a bit more once I get some down time.

I'm running 38s on mine but if I still had the 35s it would stay as is

I just purchased a 2026 Silverado zr2 a few days ago and I only want to put wheels that are a bit bigger like 20” or 22” rim. I don’t want to trim or cut anything or lift it. At my age getting in and out of a lifted truck on a daily would not be practical for me. Any suggestions on what I can do ? My son-in-law has a lifted truck and I’ve used it a few time and yes it’s fun at first but got old fast . He hasn’t driven it in months now and it just sits there. It does have I high lift and looks great but not practical.

I’d suggest just leveling the front with UCAs and then your tire and rim choice will be a bit better than stock. Also think about the bumper spacer. That should keep your truck height nice and you’ll fit bigger tires without trimming. Check the wheels and tire thread for more info, good stuff there.
