Yep it's almost always speed rating of your tires. So, a not so funny story…
I headed out on the first long trip in the truck, it would have been about 2000 miles, at about 120 miles into it with 4240 on the odo my trans went into limp mode with a loud bang when it lost hydraulic pressure and had dropped to 5th gear with the TC unlocked. Flat bed to the dealership and they at first have “concerns” that I have a throttle mapper on it (Banks Pedal Monster) but agree it really shouldn’t be an issue and diagnose the problem and say they “think” it is a bad valve body and put one on order. In the meantime they give me a brand new 24 RST with the 5.3 gas that has 6 miles on it for a service loaner to come to Florida, that truck doesn’t have the Territory MT’s on it and instead has the Trailrunner AT’s. Coming down the road I noticed that it will go over 100, I think I saw like 103 and hadn’t hit the limiter, so my guess is that our 1500 ZR2’s are limited at the factory to 98 for either the tires and/or suspension on our trucks compared to some of the other trims. I wonder where a Trail Boss tops out at, maybe they are concerned about tip over with the lift?
if thats true then i say, boooo! that sux!So, a not so funny story…

I want my spedo (non bikini) to be calibrated to the racing slicks speed rating I just put onif thats true then i say, boooo! that sux!
Good luck!I want my spedo (non bikini) to be calibrated to the racing slicks speed rating I just put on
You can up the limit from the preset 98. It’s a menu feature. I pinged mine for the first time passing 2 trucks towing farm tractors and 3 others who were hesitant to pass on a single lane county road with a long straight stretch. The 6.2 gets up and goes when you have to punch it. Stock tires are rated to 105 I believe. I don’t make it habit and quite frankly didn’t even realize I was going that fast since I was focused on the road and not the needle. The warning and the message is what got my attention.how come our rigs are throttled at 98mph but outside temp have no limit? our speedo measures to 140mph!! big scam.
You're telling us the menu but you're not showing us the menu! You can up the limit from the preset 98. It’s a menu feature.
