Oil Consumption

I just went back to the dealer today on my 2000 mile oil change/consumption test. I had used just over a quart of oil in exactly 2,000 miles. Their answer is, "...let's see what comes out of the recall, as we don't have a resolution yet. In the meantime, come back every thousand miles and let us check your oil." That is straight from the service manager at Parks Chevrolet in Richmond Virginia.

Following GM protocols, that's the new spec, 1 quart per 2k miles. It'll be interesting to see if the heavier 0W40 will stop oil consumption. Welcome to the beta test!

Who you kidding, we been beta testing for years now. Now they see some of the bugs so they can figure out a bloated and the dumbest way possible to hide...I mean fix them.
