Was out shopping for a replacement for my F250 and ran across a 2026 ZR2 gasser. This truck wasn't on my radar but it was absolutely stunning to me eye as I drove through the parking lot. I saw it wasn't a diesel and did a quick turn back and took a look.

It rides well for a 2500 and even though it's not a power house, it seems plenty fine.

No mods planned for it as I think it looks great the way it is. Option list isn't huge. Power running boards, 5th wheel prep and spray in liner, black badges, and block heater. From the minute I pulled in till I was out of there was less than an hour. Paperwork was signed and I was on my way home. I did have to wait to get a check on Monday as this was Saturday. So far so good. Can't wait to put some miles on this truck!

Thanks! First 400 miles down. Mix of interstate back roads and in town. Mileage is, what's the best way to put it? Less than stellar. 🤣

One thing I need to look into is my phone pairing. I did it but the Google maps doesn't seem to work great and the one on the truck seems glitchy.

Love my gasser. Only 11 MPG around town but....I knew it would suck going in. Gas is a wash from the premium I needed for the 6.2 though so I am not really spending anymore money.

Same thinking here. My last truck was diesel and would get 21-22 mpg on the same trip. But the cost of the diesel engine, the fuel price increase, and the DEF, I'm ok getting less MPGs.

Congrats!! Nice unit. My new Hd ZR2 is sitting in the railyard for 2 weeks now to be transported across the city to the dealership. The wait is killing me!! Ordered back in Mid-November

I have this exact truck … bought it in late November and now have a little over 13K miles. Good mix of in town and highway miles. Even getting in some off road fun in the nearby ATV dirt road trails. Beyond thrilled with it. Excellent mix of power, authority, tech and luxury. Very smooth for in town driving. I added a bed mat, bed cover, Husky ZR2 mudflaps, front and rear dashcams, Putco LED tailgate strip light. Agree that it can be glitchy … my rear view mirror cam blinks occasionally. No big deal. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Can’t wait for 2028 2500HD redesigns.

Did you remove the bracket to get the light blade installed?

I had it professionally installed (all the items at once) so not sure what the technician did exactly. Wish I could be more helpful.

I assume the tech removed it. I was going to install one on mine til learned the bracket is so the tailgate could hold more weight on it.

Quick question. The bottom of some trucks has the textured paint but mine doesn't. Other ZR2s I read on here seem to have it. Is it not standard on the 2500 HDs?

Haven't seen a GM truck without it in many years. Mine has s heavy texture below the door still and a lighter texture up to the first body line.

The paint is soft anyway, you might be better off with PPF.

This truck 100% does not have the textured paint on the bottom. It also has the "V8 6.6L" emblem on the hood.

It's not a complaint but more so an annoying sound is the whine it seems to make that changes pitch with rpm. I think I saw that the transmissions make a whine sound. I notice it more at slower speeds.

I am still quite happy with the truck. Seems to run well and feels a little more peppy than it did when I first got it.

Yes @Byrds8 just posted about his tranny whining too. Maybe its something with the mating of the gas motor with the transmission. Never heard of this before.

There is a TSB on it. Something about the planetary gears blah blah blah and something about a spur gear or some crap. Can't recall. They wanted to tear apart the transmission to look at it in the beginning. I was like nope we arent doing that on a 3k mile tranny. If it's broke replace it. They said there is a TSB and its normal in the end.
