Multimatic shocks / aftermarket replacements

No big deal knew all of the pitfalls of shock replacement when I bought the truck. These shocks and the different suspension work so well when replacement time comes no big deal. Doubt the aftermarket is going to offer much for these trucks---not enough demand to justify but you never know.

Except they already do like every truck ever built!

These shocks were shown in a performance kit posted in another thread that has some ADS shocks that might be an option. May need to call to verify availability and fitment, but ADS lists the ZR2 as compatible and the shocks are rebuildable.

I'm at 34k miles and it's slowly handling a bit wanky. Mainly in the rear.

Definitely don't want to go into the spring offroading season with crapped out shockies.

Looking for insight on those who have went away from the stock multimatic shocks on the ZR2 1500's.

Mine are completely clapped out after 50k miles of non-highway/easy commute.

I've reached out to the following supplier and have had the same response or unwilling to assist in an aftermarket alternative.

Icon:
"Due to the different geometry setups on the ZR2 platform, ICON has no offerings for this platform"

King:
Communicated they do not have a suitable replacement

Fox:
Looking at the 2.5 /3.0
Response: "Fox does not have options for the 2022 Silverado 1500 ZR2."

Accutune:
Communited they carry nothing that will work

Dirt King:
Product offered but multiple lead time delays

Multimatic:
Response: "The dampers that came stock on your Silverado ZR2 truck are not serviceable and cannot be sent somewhere for a rebuild / refresh with new seals / shock oil."

Shock surplus:
States they know the Fox 3.0 fit but Fox says otherwise.

Bilstein:
Response: "I am sorry to report that we currently do not offer any direct fit replacements for your 2022 Silverado ZR2"

Any information would be appreciated.

Elka Suspension shows three options for the ZR2 including a daily driver, dual purpose, and off road. They are based in Canada and I think you have to pay shipping and duty on top of the prices which are spendy.

I've run the ATV/UTV suspension and they are great products with high quality materials and workmanship. Customer service is also top notch.

I think the only way you'll get the same ride quality is to have at least compression adjustments, so that means the offroad shocks priced the highest.

I know Cognito carries them. So they probably have local shops that can get them cheaper.

Different springs but the same height. Anything for a trailboss will fit a zr2. Plus a lot of the good 2.0/2.5 shocks are adjustable.

They were put together and can be disassembled just the same. If you could get parts and the specs for oil and such a third party could offer a rebuild for $250 a shock. I'm guessing Multimatic won't sell the partsnor the specs.

I think that TB kit is the exact same shock.

I thought the Peak shocks just remath's. came out in that kit? That post was from last summer and he's said hes been running for two years. There's at least 1 year discrepancy in the maths.
