Has anyone figured out how to do a mod to change the front white daytime running lights to yellow/amber? The yellow/amber LEDs are already in the housing as they come on for hazards and turnsignal use of course...

I would like to make my DRLs a steady yellow instead of the white. I like the yellow/amber look better for DRLs.

Someone figured out or done this mod?

Some people have added amber film to fogs, but that doesn't allow for changing colors back and forth.

I added the film to my DRL and fogs. Still waiting for an aftermarket company to make upgraded fogs for these trucks. Would really like a brighter amber for snow/fog driving, but none seem to be interested in making them this far

It would be nice to have fully programmable lights

Those prices aren't typical, but in the western US there are plenty of stretches where you might be 100 miles between fuel sources. So these rural prices can get expensive. I used 87 on that fill up, because I figured the chances of getting good 93 wasn't great anyway.
WHAT?

Another little “mod” I would like the aftermarket to come out with is full power DRL’s when headlights or fogs are enabled.

Pretty dumb that in order to get the grill lights to be on you have to have the DRL’s in “night” mode.

Maybe something Boost auto will develop.

Are these items tunable through the PCM? Or it is a different computer that controls the functions of these lights?

I won’t be making these myself, but I’ll share the instructions here. The most challenging part was designing the PCB, which I’ve already completed through a lot of trial and error. I’ll upload the PCB files so you guys can get them printed at JLCPCB.com—this is the service I used. Once you have the control board, all you need to do is create four pigtail harnesses (two for each side) and place the board in a waterproof/weatherproof enclosure. I’ll also look up the part numbers for the connectors and pins.

The installation is simple: unplug the harness from the headlight housing, connect it to one side of the PCB, and then plug the pigtail from the other side of the PCB into the headlight.

If you’d like the option to switch between amber and white DRLs, you can run two wires from the PCB into the cab and install a two-position switch.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to run wires into the cab, you can place a small jumper on the PCB itself, allowing you to have either white or amber LEDs. (Can't switch colors on the go)

I’ll try to make time for a more detailed write-up with pictures. I’ll need to sift through some old emails since it’s been a while.

The lights have been working great and look fantastic. I haven’t had any issues with them. As a courtesy to other drivers, I switch to the white DRLs at night because they automatically dim with the light sensor, while the amber ones are super bright.

Venomtrucks.com just released the mod for the Amber daytime running lights. Preorders are suppose to ship in a few weeks.
