Interior Condensation / Fogging Up

I picked up a '24 Silverado ZR2 Bison the other week. I noticed that if I don't have the A/C running full time, my truck's windows will fog up. I live in the PNW where rain, humidity, and condensation are persistent this time of year. But I have several other new vehicles from other OEMs, and this isn't a problem with any of those rigs. I can drive my '23 Super Duty in the pouring rain without needing to turn on the A/C. But my ZR2 fogs up immediately without the A/C on.

I noticed that there is some water that runs down the door panel. It's not raining today, so I wasn't able to capture the condensation trail. I'll circle back tomorrow when it's raining again. In the meantime, I marked in red in the picture below where I see water running.

I took it back into my dealer. They put it under their sprayer and said they couldn't find any leaks. They also said that condensation I am seeing is normal. And they said all Silverados do this. I am not sure I believe them.

Are any of you guys having issues with condensation, moisture build up, or fogging windows? If it is a design flaw, I can look past it. But if my truck is uniquely flawed, I want to know so I can lean on them to remedy it.

Thanks!

Yeah, recirc is off. It'd be nice to be able to dry out the interior, but the truck doesn't fit in my garage and it'll be pretty damp here for the next 6 months :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, I remember when I was stationed at NAS Whidbey Island the joke was “we don’t tan, we rust” because of all the rain.

I have the “water marks”on my truck too, I think it’s a releasing agent stain from the factory, seen it on others too.
It’s bullshit, but I’ve not been able to make it go away. Not related to your condensation.
It’s winter where you are and not being able to park inside means you’re constantly exposed to moisture, plus just breathing inside is a lot of humidity, plus you’re singing off key!
Try different things when you shut down, like keeping the defrost off. See if anything changes

I'm on my second late-model Chevy truck. Third, if you count my '16 GMC 2500.

They all do this. My '23 Colorado seemed extra foggy inside and I've noticed similar on my new-to-me '22 ZR2. It's most pronounced when the climate control is set to Auto. A minute or three running on defog/lower vents and it clears right up.

@nickjaynes I grew up in LO. Small world.

It's fogging up on the inside? Does it seem humid inside?

May be worth a shot to put some damprid in the interior and try to draw out any moisture in the interior that's in carpets/porous materials.

My '19 Colorado doesn't do this — just the '24 Silverado. That's why I thought it was odd.

Funny you grew up in LO, where are ya now?

Yeah, I was thinking of throwing a Damprid in there for a weekend to pull moisture out of there.

The compressor will remove the humidity. Never had this kind of problem when the ac compressor is running in over 50 vehicles including my 2024 ZR2 HD and my 2024 ZR2 Bison Colorado.

Oh, no, that’s what I’m saying. I have to have the A/C on nonstop. Otherwise it fogs up, which isn’t normal
