I think the prices of our used rigs will be dropping considerably as well. I see some comments of people getting 20% off MSRP........the good ol days are back....... unless you bought the last 3 years!

Youtubers are a unique bunch of hype salesmen....If you want to judge what resale value will be, look at the inventory days available....On the 2500 ZR2, the average days are 6...six....Which means they are sold soon after arriving. This differs in many parts of the country, hence the word "average"...But down here in Florida, you'd be hard pressed to find these on the dealer lot in certain colors, and the used ones are commanding new prices. Now, Ram trucks....322 days inventory supply....Good luck with that.

1500 ZR2s around here are listed as $6-7k off and have been for months. I bet you could get better than that. I got that 18 months ago, but mine was a carry over.

I see some discounts on 2500HDs, but not much. I got $4700 off mine and it was the first month they made them. I think you can work a deal.

They are such shit boxes, that the closer you get to $10k off, the more you'll cover your time for trips to dealers for repairs.

Allow me to introduce you to the not-so-rare breed of Florida dealer, the Suckalotofcox. In addition to the sticker price, this breed of dealer will then add a supplemental window sticker full of such wonderful things as nitrogen, pre-paid maintenance, $1100 for window tinting(the front two windows to match the rear), and $800 ceramic coating. Then they will add $1K dealer fee, $350 electronic registration fee, and $250 title fee. Yes sir, ain't Florida great? Want a good deal on a truck? Drive to South Carolina.

Couldnt have said that better myself. There is a dealer here that supposedly put nitrogen in my wife's Jeep when it was purchased. However, the PSI in them swing too much to have been pure nitrogen. So I guess it really meant normal air since it's 78% nitrogen already.

Florida dealers are shady AF.

The GM layoffs continue. I love this statement by this asshole. Doesn't mention the horrible quality control, but somehow he thinks efficiency (i.e., more cost cutting) will help.

"In order to win in this competitive market, we need to optimize for speed and excellence," GM spokesperson Kevin Kelly.

Gone are the days when a business had to layoff workers to survive, because they weren't making a profit...Now, corporate America lays them off because they aren't making ENOUGH money.

Bunch of corporate bullshit. I read that and shook my head. Who buys that line of crap? You know they didn’t get rid of the “right” ones and they wouldn’t be able to measure any efficiency if they tried. The risk of owning these heaps outside of warranty keeps increasing. Hell, they can’t get things to work when new. I’d love to join a class action on the non-working maps and stereo that I paid for.

You seem to know the software business. I was surprised at this article a couple months back when they canned 1000, many of which appeared to be software engineers. That seems like a lot of professional staff to get canned at once. Either they just hired anyone to do nothing or they had no idea what they were hiring for to begin with.

“As a result, we’re reducing certain teams within the Software and Services organization. We are grateful to those who helped establish a strong foundation that positions GM to lead moving forward.”

I've worked for three of the largest engineering companies in the US and they employed 1000s of engineers, scientists, and technical staff. In the worst economies, I've never seen that kind of layoffs for professional staff. In fact, we would get rid a of few duds and then try to find more talent.

How the fuck did GM have that many staff dedicated to software and miss the mark so badly. What a fucking clown show they were running and charging people MSRP+ for shit products.

If anyone else ran their business like that, they wouldn't even be in business anymore. They should be ashamed how they've treated their customers.

Most of the issues with modern vehicles is a direct result of union and DEI practices.

Companies do not hire the best people for roles anymore. They hire to check boxes. Until that can be removed from corporate America you will continue to see degradation in products and services.

Couldn’t even imagine any company today being capable of what was accomplished in the space/defense programs in the 60’s. Fred Flintstone in comparison today’s world of computer aided everything.

If you can’t do the job, you shouldn’t have the job. 330m people in this country. Let’s figure it out ladies and gentlemen.

Exactly right. I had lunch with a long-time friend a few weeks ago and we started to talk about our trucks. He told me about one of his close friends who is an engineer at GM in Detroit. My friend said that he (the engineer) complains constantly about how GM is trying to become a software company and is failing badly. The engineers are unhappy because they are being tasked with software design and are not allowed to spend the necessary time on mechanical and interoperability design. I instantly thought about all the issues we’ve talked about in this forum and it made sense. At some point there will have to be a correction once the board decides to throw out the top levels and start over.
