šŸ”„ HOT Hood Paint Damage bulletin and fix is finally here

My ā€˜25 is all good, overall truck quality is better than more ā€˜22 was also. Itā€™s not perfect, but better.
So, is the new gasket visible underneath the hood scoop on your ā€˜25? Can you please take a picture of the corner(s) so I can see what the gap between the scoop and hood is now? Iā€™m hoping they are using a quality gasket all the way around. Thank you!

I donā€™t see any signs of the gasket and the gap is pretty consistent. In my opinion, it looks as good as sticking a plastic scoop on an aluminum hood.

Thank you for posting. Itā€™s interesting because I canā€™t see signs of a gasket under your scoop as the black corner seems to sit fairly flush with the white hood? I would have thought GM would have installed a gasket thick enough to eliminate any chance of paint chipping as the scoop ages and flexes. Your hood looks great though. How many miles?

My '24 has zero paint issues anywhere, and I've been watching the hood . I don't see any gasket or film under the scoop.

It's only months old and 8,000 miles but so far it has had no issues with anything.
So, is your scoop literally sitting flush against the hood? If you canā€™t see a gasket, then how is the scoop not contacting the hood and causing paint chipping? Iā€™m happy for you, donā€™t get me wrong, just curious how the corners of the hood arenā€™t chipping like many ā€˜22 and ā€˜23 owners.

The scoop does fit nicely on the hood. Better than theā€™22 did. I donā€™t have any pics of my ā€˜22 hood, but it did sit a little closer and Iā€™m not sure the hood scoop gasket thickness was the main issue with the paint chipping. I think it was in some part poor prep and poor installation at the factory. I think the quality of the entire truck is better on my ā€˜25 than the ā€˜22. Like I said earlier itā€™s better, but thereā€™s still room for improvement. Iā€™ve only had it 6 weeks and 600 miles.
