Has anyone had blown engine before 10k

How did they get your truck on the flatbed with the transmission stuck in Park? My tow driver was completely baffled.

Dave
we chucked the tires on the boat, unhooked it and had one of my buddy's gf bring his truck down to get the boat. tow truck driver had a set of rollers he put in front of the rear tires and when he started dragging it, the rear tires popped up on the rollers and on the rollback it went. was pretty smooth.

had them take me home and put the boat back in the garage. i climbed up in the boat with one of my GSP's at 5 a.m. after they left, and cracked beers for a couple hours. tried to get the wife to get in the boat with me and the dog, told her i'd drive and she could pretend to be netting crabs. she didn't like that idea and went back to bed.

These trucks pretty much require a rollback tow truck. There's a tow company on YouTube that has a couple of videos where he discusses this information.

The 6.6 liter in the 3/4 ton trucks don't have those weird lifters and de-activation, ASS.

I think if you can use a 3/4 ton truck this is a good engine to buy. I couldn't use a truck with this much capacity any longer, since I sold all my toys. I'm not sure how much longer these HD trucks can escape the mandates, but for now........
The 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton are comparably priced, feature for feature, in the lower trim levels. Sure, the 3/4 rides a bit more harsh...But it seems to hold up better. Just an observation.

Previous owner lost the first one at 6000 mi. 16,000 mi on the second one and all is well so far. I didn’t know it had a new motor installed the week prior to me owning it. I immediately towed 10k the first weekend after I purchased and that apparently is the trick to searing the rings. lol. No oil consumption or issues so far!

I agree. It's a lot more truck for the money. When I had a tournament ski boat, enclosed trailer and was hauling bikes a lot it made sense for me. When I went from a 1/2 ton to a 3/4 ton, towing and hauling the same loads, it was night & day different. The 3/4 ton hardly knew there was anything on the back, especially the brakes. I did have a diesel in those rigs. I would go over any mountains in this state pretty much at whatever speed I wanted. The beauty of a turbo diesel, they love to run hard and work all day. Today though with the after treatment, I'm not sure about their life span. They have more power than ever.
