Mine is probably one of the few that haven't blown, but I run mine hard enough to break it in properly. Others put ceramic coatings on them and hike up their skirts to get in.Wow really. Mine went at 7k. Truck was gone for 3 months and no compensation whatsoever from . Gm
A lot of threads on this site regarding catastrophic 6.2 engine failures of some kind. Give the search a whirl, you’ll find more than you care to know. And keep in mind, zr2s are a small subset of the 6.2’s in the wild…go peek at Tahoe/suburban, at4, Silverado, and sierra forums and you’ll find the lifters on these motors are a serious shitshow and have been for years. Seems like new issues with bearings and pistons are cropping up now. My daughters zr2 Colorado is on her third rear main seal at under a few thousand miles, you’re not alone. no compensation seems to be the default as well.Wow really. Mine went at 7k. That sucks that they haven't been able to address the seal. The housing has to be out of spec if the seal won't hold. They should just just put in a new transmission.A lot of threads on this site regarding catastrophic 6.2 engine failures of some kind. Give the search a whirl, you’ll find more than you care to know. three rear mains in a few thousand miles, I told them just find a new truck and y’all can figure it out because she needs something to drive. I’m being told, and seems to be validated by others on Colorado / Canyon forums, there was a bad run of parts spring/summer timeframe and it should now be resolved. So far, this one’s held more than a 100 miles or so (last one made it about that long) so we shall see. One dude had five done on his…fundamentals GM, fundamentals. That sicks that they haven't been able to address the seal. The housing has to be out of spec if the seal won't hold. I just cleared 1000 today on my new 2025.I think the record is short of 5k if I recall! Would like to see one go at sub 1000 FTW.
Throw me the keys...I just cleared 1000 today on my new 2025.
mine was at 5622 miles at 2 a.m. on the way to the chesapeake, boat in tow.I think the record is short of 5k if I recall! Would like to see one go at sub 1000 FTW.
It still affects the bottom line with the warranty repairs.mine was at 5622 miles at 2 a.m. on the way to the chesapeake, boat in tow.
called a friend, who owned a GM dealership for 30+ years then retired and sold out around 10 years ago, to see how to handle everything with GM after the truck was in the shop for a bit over a month (was 2 mos by the time i got it back). his statement about the issues all manufactures are having rings truth:
"oatzee, here's the problem: the manufactures are worried about one thing now days, and it has nothing to do with putting out a quality product. all they're worried about is the bottom line for their investors. they're bidding out components, like the bearings that went out of your truck, and going with the cheapest shit they can find. it's almost like they're all seeing who can put out the biggest pile of shit the fastest, they all suck."
LMFAO........ I've said that so many times i should have my own Wikipedia page. People got mad at me and said I was disloyal to GM......WTF....... the GM circle Jerk is alive and well?Wait until AXE sees that statement. @AXE
How did they get your truck on the flatbed with the transmission stuck in Park? My tow driver was completely baffled.mine was at 5622 miles at 2 a.m. on the way to the chesapeake, boat in tow.

Well when mine lets go, I'll side step the dealer shit can the warranty and have the engine completely gone through by a race shop and replace the cam and lifters.LMFAO........ I see Stallantis finally canned their CEO and they are hiring back the pervious Ram Division Manager. Maybe they'll finally get it fixed by 2028 models after they flush the 2 years worth of turds they have backed up.
The 6.6 liter in the 3/4 ton trucks don't have those weird lifters and de-activation, ASS.what about the 6.6l gasser? I havent seen much about them blowing up
