The 2013 Camaro SS with the 6.2L took 5W30 oil and was 420hp and 426 Tq. When they bumped it up to 455HP/TQ in 2016 it still took 5W30. It wasnt til 2019 they went with 5W30 or 0W40. Same HP/TQ since 2016. GM never make sense in why they do shit.
The 2016 Silverado had a thermostat on the transmission. Previous years, with the same transmission did not have one. They did it to eke out a bit more MPG by running it hotter. It was nothing to see it hit 190+ just cruising. A lot "flipped the pill"so it no longer functions. Then it would run 140-150ish in the heat of summer.
Just all silly shit.
