How is your DEF usage when towing? You should own a 6.2 before the diesel like I did and you'd appreciate not having to fill up until 360+ miles on the tank. I was getting like maybe 240 to a tank with the 6.2 but those numbers take into consideration towing, which is the main reason I bought either of them. The 3.0 with nothing in tow should get upwards of 500 miles to a tank, the 6.2 on a great day would get around 320 miles. At any rate, yeah, what those above said, those tanks should be for gassers, not diesels.
Heck, if I didn't tow anything and had a 43 gallon tank on this diesel, I'd need to fill up like 4 or 5 times a year . . . maybe.
Can't answer that as of yet, just traded the 6.2 for the diesel 3 weeks ago and haven't towed anything. However I've been told the DEF usage increases substantially when towing. Mileage numbers for the diesel in my last post is based on what friends get with theirs when towing weight similar/greater than what I'll be towing. How is your DEF usage when towing?
I had a ‘22 zr2 with the 6.2 and got a ‘24 with the 3.0. In answer to your question, DEF consumption when loaded/towing is my biggest complaint. Really loaded up with gear and pushing a headwind on the interstate at 85’ish or pulling a 16ft bumper with a Ranger UTV across the state to deer camp…it will drink it.How is your DEF usage when towing?
