That's a level of dumfuckery rarely achieved, but I just did a 1600 mile cross country run and I seen several other dumbfucks, including "transport and hot shot services" pulling loads made for much bigger trucks rolling down the interstate 75 mph riding on the rear bumper.

Where's Johnny Law when you need him........waiting to give me a ticket for 5 over!

Suspension is out of the equation. That thing is full bump stop smashed. Rear end bearings left the chat.
Yep, exactly. The frame is just sitting completely on the axle. I completely bottomed out my 1500 zr2 with just a 40hp tractor on a 20' car hauler. Sure the setup is a little front heavy, but my previous 2500 and even my HD ZR2 pulls the same setup no problem. If you don't care about the GAWR or having any steering above 45mph. Then that picture above is the way to go, lol. Not real sure why anyone would even install a gooseneck in a truck with like a 1400lb payload.
This was my 1500. FYI, I didn't tow it like that. Right after I loaded it I stepped back and laughed. Took that picture and sent it to my uncle saying down sizing to a small truck might not have been a great idea, lol.

No hate to any 1500 owner as I am one. But anything over 6k lbs I wouldn’t pull behind a ZR2.

Even a max tow truck I’d question above 8k. I feel manufacturers are a little nuts with what they claim trucks are rated for. I would use the word capable.

My last truck was a 2009 5.3 and it was rated to 9,600…. You are off your rocker. My buddies 06 f350 is rated to 10k. That truck has much more meat on its bones and it does okay with a 8.5k bumper pull camper.

To remotely believe my truck or let alone my previous one would pull that regularly and be okay is insanity.

Agreed, I've towed a load of gravel in a dump trailer about 6k across a field and it was squatting plenty. I thought it was about as much as I cared to tow with my boat, which is probably 5500 on the highway. Did not care for how it felt braking and in corners.

Also with the 2500, I can't imagine pulling 18k, especially high profile 5ers with it. I think about 15k is max. If I got beyond that I'd have a tonner or dually.

Nahh, your not wrong. Generally should figure about 80%. That would put a 1500 ZR2 at about 7k. No trucks can really hit their max tow rating anyway without going over somewhere else. Payload, GAWR, ect. Min tongue weight is 10%. Really it should be more like 12-15% for highway speeds. 15% of 8900 is over 1300lb. Which is all the payload capacity lol.

Couldn’t agree more. They are bonkers with those ratings and I argue anyone that pushes those limits regularly. They should do the safety of everyone on the road a favor and back them down to reality.
