Brand New ZR2 went off roading (bad idea)

Sooooooo with 50 miles on her I took her to northern Michigan silver lake sand dunes for Labor Day weekend. The ZR2 absolutely dominated. What a beast!!!! However, I did damage my “silver” skid plates on the bottom possibly my bumper too lol . I’ll post another thread for how to get replaced. Also, I need to set this up properly so it doesn’t happen again any recommendations.

You can pull that skid and straighten it out. I pulled mine to Line-X that lower facia. Looks way better.

Same happened to me in the dunes, bent the skidplate and the steps, other than that the truck works great, except that it shifted even in L with the gear selected.....

L only lets you select the highest permitted gear. It will still function like an automatic.

I know but I had an LTZ with the 8speed and when I leave it in 3rd it kept 3rd no matter what, this one don't.

What mode were you in? It affects transmission shifting characteristics.

4LO in normal mode and off road, Actually I tried in 4Hi first gear normal and it shifted to 2nd.

Looks sharp. Was it hard to install? Noticed it said had to trim factor bumper.

Usually good to go 1000 miles before putting any serious stress on your engine, but if you’re willing to throw caution to the wind, who cares. I hope you had a great time
