Hey awesome people,

I’m about to pull the plug on the whole Borla catback system S-type and i got a question on the pipe diameter as i see they come in 2.5 inch or 3 inches and the 2.5 is more expensive than the 3. If someone can provide an explanation on the attached options, that would be appreciated.

140916 is true duals and you have to cut into factory piping. 140914 is a cat back with no cutting required.140915 is similar to 140914 but with a louder muffler. I had the 140914 on my 2022 and I liked the sound except the shotgun start when cold. Hope this helps.

Hahahhah shotgun start. Thanks my man for the thorough details . So the Atak 140915 is the loudest ? Whats true dual and why that s-type is more expensive than the others ? Thanks again

Hittin' remote start in my parking garage is going to give someone a heart attack.

I'm not sure which model Borla I have (as it was on my truck) but dang -- that cold start will summon a demon!

Another vote for S-type. Initially purchased the Touring, it just wasn’t loud enough for the amount of money I spent on it. Cold starts were nice but past that, it sounded stock to me. @ZR2NYC thought the opposite and hated his S-type. He was nice enough to send me his S-type parts for free and I’m loving every minute of this system over the Touring.

I have a friend in a 21’ GMC AT4 with the Attack and there really isn’t much difference between the two. My cold starts are louder but his over all “growl” is louder. Might be the difference between his USB ports built into the bumper and mine having turn downs at the bumper.

Also, I have sound clips on my profile of the touring vs S-type. There are a bunch of others as well.

I wonder if the USB port exhaust help with the infotainment system.

So I just had the borla atak put on and for it sounds amazing cold starts are the loudest and then goes to nice groan. But I do have a check engine light coming up with two codes. P3173 and P316F the truck is running with no issues and the codes seem to be related to the catalytic converter in some way. Anyone have this issue and a fix for it. Sent a message to borla and waiting for response and working with the shop that installed it as well. Thanks for any guidance.

GM code P3173 indicates that the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected more air entering the intake manifold than the throttle position. This could be caused by a number of factors, including: a faulty throttle body, a vacuum leak, and a damaged actuator.

GM code P316F, also known as the P0316 code, indicates that the engine's Power Control Module (PCM) has detected a misfire in one or more cylinders during the first 1,000 revolutions after startup

Do you have a code reader? Can you try resetting the check engine light? An exhaust should have no issues with the above codes and do not appear to be catalytic converter related at all unless I am missing something.

Keep us posted, I just ordered the ATAK system and will be shipped from the states.

Thank you so much for that info. Now that you informed of this at the same time of the install of the exhaust I had installed a new aftermarket intake. Could this be the issue? Thoughts? Thank you so much and merry Christmas
