I believe you have to be in 4LO to use either of the lockers. The front locker can only be used 4LO terrain mode, but the rear can be locked in 4LO regardless of drive mode.

I think I used front lockers without "terrain" mode, but definitely 4L is required.

Bump- i had the issue mentioned in the video yesterday pulling out a stuck ford in 4 low.
Reengaged pretty quickly, however that's the only time I've experienced this issue. Lucky transfer cases aren't the prices thing, so if I have to replace in the future so be it.

Test is out and let us know

We had some snow this week and I was able to test it out, it appears that the rear locker will, in fact, work in 2wd mode. Probably would not use it that way but it does work.
