I was doing some test fitting of some 37x13.5R18 Toyo MTs. It looks pretty good and more aggressive. Fills the wheel well up pretty well and has plenty of clearance front and rear in the wheel well.

The problem I was concerned with is that these wheels have 0 offset, maybe positive offset, so the aggressive shoulder lugs on the MTs get very close to the UCAs. I think that the remaining 1/4 inch space would close up and rub with flexing of the tire in offroad conditions or when aired down.

I may have to stick with 35s or decide if I want to part with these expensive AEV wheels. I like the AEV wheels and it seems like an expensive project to do everything at about $5k.

Here's the clearance on UCAs wheel straight and full lock left and right.

The other thing I did not like is that I did not really get much extension of the tire shoulder outside the fender. Looks similar to stock. I wanted a little more poke.

Here's a photo of the beefy hardware on the suspension and brakes.

Here's the stock 305s (35s) next to the 37s. The 35s look huge when you get them off the truck, but the 37s are massive.

Here's a picture of my Toyo RT Trail 295s (34.5") on my 1500 vs 305 (35") Goodyear MTs from 2500. I still can't figure out how some people are getting 35s under the 1500 without a full lift. There has to be massive rubbing.

i wish i had a little bit more too. not enough to go spacer route but maybe a bit wider tire that wont rub on a stock rim.

I had to go to a 9.5 inch rim and negative offset wheel on my 1500. 2500 sits pretty flush, the wheel is stamped 18x9 inside, but looks wider.

A 37x12.50 would probably fit fine. The 13.5 Toyo MTs are a very wide tire
Yeah, the reason I wanted to go with the wider 13.5 is to see if I would get a little more shoulder outside the fender flare. Also, when you go to tall 37s, it looks more proportional to have a wider cross section.

I think i'm gonna hold off for now. Maybe revisit the 37s with new - offset rims in a few months.

I weighed these up too and the stock 35 wheels/tires were 104 lbs and with the 37 Toyo it was 129 lbs.

Just saw this post. Agree with the “poke” look. I had a square body way back in the day with 36” and a 4” lift and was just poken perfect
