Just curious if anyone has installed a front leveling kit on their 2500HD ZR2? I have read on a few Facebook Groups of folks turning the keys 1 or 2 turns doesn't impact the ride quality however, I would prefer not to go that route. I know Cognito has their Super Stock Kit but that doesn't appear to be a leveling kit. The main solution I've been considering is the Suspensionnmaxx leveling kit. I am hesitant about purchasing the kit due to the ZR2 having a different setup than a regular 2500HD. Anyone have any thoughts on the Suspensionnmaxx kit or other recommendations to consider and investigate?

Give it a whirl and let us know how it works.

Haven't seen anyone level these rigs with new keys, cause they are set up entirely different than standard 2500HDs and don't really need it.

I spent 15 minutes under mine with socket and ratchet on the torsion bar key. Measured it on flat even concrete. Set mine just a tad lower in the front, since it wasn't raked much anyway.

This picture was my final setting after a couple different settings. Rides great! I got a detailed post about it.

Thanks for the reply I'll have a look for your detailed post.

How do you lift the front to level it....If you need to only lift it an inch or so?

You obviously need more tension on the torsion bars to get it to lift higher. How do you create that tension? By twisting the torsion bar.
How do you twist the torsion bar? You can either, A) Use a torsion key that repositions the resting position so when you tighten the tension bolts to the same depth, your torsion bar is twisted further....because it started further due to the new torsion key, or B) you tighten the tension bolt (as indicated above) and get the same result.

The difference is when you just tighten the bolt, you lose the amount of adjustment available at the key, should you need to balance the side-to-side height.

Go stare at that torsion key and picture it in your head. There is literally NO DIFFERENCE in using a key vs. not using one, other than the REMAINING available adjustment.

People who tell you there is a ride difference are the same people telling you their ass dyno can detect the horsepower add of a cold air intake.

One thing I will say is cranking torsion bars on other standard 2500HDs with 2 inches of rake definitely made a harsher front ride.

On the ZR2, it's about 1.5 inches rake, so I went about an inch and did like 3 turns on the bolts. I tried 4 turns and full level, but did feel it might have been a tad stiffer. I think the Multimatic DSSV suspension does a good job of masking the issues caused by stiffening the torsion bars a bit.
