Looks like the next generation Silverado will be redesigned for 2027 and available in 2026. It'll use the T1-2 body on frame architecture, so probably not substantially different than current T1.

Looks like there may be plans for some sort of plug in hybrid version will be offered.

I wonder if the ZR2 will be offered and if it'll get it's own body to accommodate 35s?

They mention improved emissions levels. I wonder if that'll get shit canned with regulations potentially rolling back. Might already be too late if the designs are done.

I see they mention the HDs won't be until 28-29.

They would go into production in 14-16 months, maybe less. I wonder if they redesigned the motors and will be able to shit can DFM and auto start. They have to be close to final design in order to procure parts and manufacture, so it might be too late.

These large corps move at a snails pace and suppliers need enough runway to retool and train. Then add on logistics, assembly tests, technical documentation, and so much more. It will be rinse and repeat unfortunately with enough pieces and minor redesign to attract new buyers. I wouldn’t expect any of the past problems to be fixed because leadership has not changed. We’ll see.

Infotainment will pretty much copy the new Tahoe.

Truck is not all new. But if they fix the clearance Issues and put more than
27 cents into the suspension design of the ZR2 It will be very nice.

The current platform doesn’t feel obsolete quite yet. But definitely room for improvement in the powertrain (and suspension) for this forums niche.

The Ecotec’s will be 12 years old in 2026. That’s a long time.

Yeah, I want android auto
I have Android Auto on my 2024 1500 ZR2. It should be on your app screen. I'm not a huge fan (I'd never used it before), but it's better than the Google built-in.
I'm not a fan of the Google system and I'm certainly not paying a subscription fee to use it. The 'infotainment' system on 2017 Yukon was heads and shoulders above either - and it was free. Best of all, it was intuitive and it just worked. IMHO, GM took a huge step backward with Google integration.
OK - I'll step off my soapbox now....

Chevy is getting rid of android auto and apple car play. That's why I mentioned that. Of course my ZR2 has android auto, I was just saying the next generation wont have it. A lot of people have revolted about that.
