Hey Guys,

I wasn't really looking at buying anything, but when I saw the ZR2 won truck of the year it peaked my interest.

I remember when it was announced as well, and watching all the media coverage, and GM videos on it, and thought it was a remarkable truck with an interior that finally made it into this century. If timing was right, I would need to get into one.

Coming from a list of GM vehicles, I traded in a '21 Sierra Denali with the 90's interior for this incredible upgrade, and have not looked back.

What a machine. 24km's on it, on delivery day. An amazing 207km 1-way drive home.

The dealer was fantastic and offered a great deal on trade-UP to the ZR2, and it feels great to be back in BLACK again.

Its been a pleasure following and researching over the past 4 weeks on this forum, and I will keep everyone informed on my build progress with this Truck.

So far - Wheel Spacers, and Tint are all I have done, but as you'll soon find out; I can't leave anything alone!

Cheers,

R I G

Dealer had it tinted at the fronts to match, and a 7" Strip across the top of the window.

Added 1.5" Wheel Spacers to make it look how it should have come from the factory. :sneaky:

How does it ride with the spacers?
No discernible difference at this point. Only about 100kms driven with them on.

Full lock right, in reverse, it rubbed once backing out of the garage. Need to keep an.. ear, out at full lock, otherwise stay a few degrees away and you're okay. (y)

I have the Bakflip installed on mine also. I have one on my other truck (F150) and love it. The only negative I noticed is that when it's open all the way up against my back window, you can't use your cameras in your third brake light
That's why I like the BAK X4S. BAK does make several awesome covers.

Just Arrived! Time to follow suit. Thanks for all of the recommendations on this. I'll see if I can get it on tomorrow.

Installed the Corsa Air Intake.

Corsa PN 45954D - went with the dry filter (ZR2 Red). Also, based on a few comparison videos, I opted to remove the fibreglass cover, and run the box "open". No particular reason other than the sound is just better.

Installed, Road Tested, re-checked clamps - good to go. I am impressed with the unit, but severely bias. I have been running Corsa products (intake/exhaust) on a few vehicles I've had. Most recently, the intake and exhaust setup on my wife's Yukon which sounds absurd.

GM Accessories wheels - OEM 22 inch Black Model: 84802386

Been waiting on tires for 3 weeks o_O
Thought for second those might be Voss! Those look exactly like what I want to put on my sand dune. Mind me asking what you paid? Would love to get that pattern in 20" so I can still beat up the trails somewhat.

That will have a negative impact on your motor. You are sucking in HOT air from the engine. It is designed for the lid to be on. If you are only looking for sound, as these things don't do anything for performance anyway, then leave it be and accept the negative consequences.

Being in Canada, I am sure you can find them for cheaper than I did. Just run the part number and see where the best price through a GM wholesaler is. Recommend you stay away from dealer-direct, unless they give you a discount off of MSRP. No 20" option, unless you go to a different style of rim. There are a few black 20" OEM options that are close. 84582671 or 84939095. Just watch your offset for the particular look you desire. Vossen wheels are incredible!

Thanks SG - I think I understand where you are coming from. It will be messing with the air density pulling at warmer temp than the MAF/MAP are anticipating. Haven't noticed a change in efficiency over the last bit of driving. its 3.2(F) here right now so I'm not sure how much Warm air I am actually introducing! lol

Update Today:
Front Bumper and Skid Plate PPF installation, and tail lights tinted! (OEM Spec, just tint)

GM OEM 22x9 Split Spoke Wheels [84802386]

GM OEM XL8 TPMS [84991144]

Only took it for a little spin to verify torque, but it rides very, very nice!
