Under Side mirror notch

I just noticed my zr2 has this small opening on the underside. At first I though maybe the car wash broke something off but looking around I see others selling side mirrors that have it the same as mine. Does anyone know what its for? Right next to the camera.

Could it be a drain hole for any water that may get inside?

Is that how the folding gear mechanisms are adjusted or repositioned?

Are you talking about the tiny square hole? The other two are the camera and puddle light, right?
