So I recently did my second 5k rotation on the Toyo RT Trail Tires (295/70R18) I've installed. After 10k miles and all kinds of terrian and road conditions, I am very surprised how little wear they have showing. In fact, I think this might be the best wearing large off road tire I've seen on a 1500.

These tires are expensive at $425 apiece. But I like the look and performance they give me. They are load range E 10 ply rating, so they can do the job in severe duty applications. The ride quality is really good and no added noise.

About the only complaint I have is that the tires feel like they want to push a little in higher speed corners. They don't push, but I feel like I have a lot of input on the steering wheel at 70 mph. It's probably due to larger size and wider stance than the tire itself.

Gas mileage was not affected and acceleration is still good. I can still light these tires up in manual when I'm above 3000 rpm.

I cross them when I rotate and haven't needed to rebalance them. Here's some pictures of front and rear tires at 10,500 miles. You can see some wear on the outside edge if the shoulder lugs, which is always present on big tires with offroad lugs. Also you can see there is hardly any trend wear, as the little lip on the surface lugs is still there.

A little different story on the 2500HD. I put these on my old truck right before I sold it to my boy. He's been running these in Dakota. While there's a lot of softer soil and milder terrain, there are a lot of gravel farm and county roads. The gravel is not sharp, mostly rounded. I am seeing some chipping of the rubber on the edges of the lugs. So not as durable on the 9000 lb 2500HD trucks. I'm sure that extra weight is just a little much for softer tire compound.

They are not 3 peak rated, but he said they did fine in the snow and packed roads.

I was thinking of putting them on my 24 2500HD, but not sure I would run them again on an HD. Could have been just that batch of tires. I did see some chipping on one set of my Toyo MTs.

I had them on my Tundra and put about 20k miles on them before I traded it. My only complaint with them was that they would hydroplane and wet grip wasn't great. Much of that was probably because they were wide at 305-55-20. Other than that they were great.

I haven't had mine in heavy rain, but thought they did pretty well in the wet so far on both trucks. Better than the MTs. I might go to the AT3s on 2500HD next. They don't look as rugged, but probably a better all around option in my old age.

Love the tires. Did it fit in a stock truck or did you have to mod anything? I am curious.

Stock truck with trimming. I've got a detailed post with all the information on my setup. Just do a search for it.

Probably if you use different offset rims or spacers, that's where the problem occurs.
Also if it was leveled do you think trimming would still be needed?
