This dirty oil stuck in your pan, forever. Let's fix it.

Cool video! Looks like a nice design. I really like that clear pan test.

I'm not sure that residual oil is gonna cause a big issue. There's always oil remaining in the lines.

These motors will run longer than most with normal service intervals. If I was working and towing mine daily it mght make sense for more oil capacity and longer service intervals.

If you wanted, you can stick a top side oil change tube (Pela) through the dipstick and get the residual oil from the pan and the pickup.

My ol man likes to start his with the oil drained and drain plug out. Quite a bit more drains. "I don't want that dirty oil in there"......LOL......I just change mine often.

Just as an alternative to a Pela/Mityvac, I use a 12V pump oil extractor on the boat (West Marine house brand), and like it way better than the Mityvac and Topsider MVP it replaced. If I just needed it for the vehicles, I'd probably look at a shop air powered one.

I still have my Pela 6000 from 15+ years ago...works great!
I get so much satisfaction from my Pela. It would be faster if you're just doing the remaining amount.

I've got a 12V pump too, but it doesn't have is own containment so you gotta secure the hose into a container. More of a PIA.

No satisfaction from Pela on this change. I stuck the pickup tube into the dipstick and it bottomed out well past the length of the dipstick. However, based upon the angle of the dipstick entering the pan, there isn't really a path to the bottom of the pan. Perhaps it would work if you had a really flexible hose that would bend down.

I guess if you want to get every drop of oil you have to buy a pan or have a bung welded to the outside of the pan, which is how it should have been done by GM.
