This will be the start of my log for this new truck. Not going to be much of a build, but I'll have one to document adventures and progress. Intending to take some overland offroad courses with it. Plan to do some camping and travel. I am also going to be towing my lowrider to shows every now and then.

I hated dealing with my local dealerships here north of Charlotte and in Charlotte so I ordered from an interesting Dealership based out of Oklahoma. And that was a lengthy wait, but it was a fantastic dealer experience for the most part.

Build Process
Ordered 10/27/24
Target Production Week 12/7/24
Order Shipped 12/16/24
Arrived at dealer 1/8/2025
LPO delay 1/10/2025
Delivered to me 2/1/2025

Mods planned
1. Magnaflow catback.
2. Aftermarket Gooseneck.
3. Come up winch install.
4. Perhaps a toobox, but not sure yet.
5. Front and rear dash cam.
6. Tint
7. Subwoofer
8. Ceramic Coating

Delivered to me today by some Ukrainian dude. He was nice enough. Couldn't communicate much to me. But he got it here safe and sound.

I was watching this thing like a hawk on the mychevrolet app. In hindsight I shouldn't have spent so much time staring at it impatiently lol.

Congratulations! That's not a bad wait time really. Worth it if you like the dealer.

Magnaflow always sounds good on these Chevrolets. I have one on my 6.2L 1500. Check out Hottexhaust.com for good deals. I think it's owned by Magnaflow.

If you want an alternative take on a tool box, check out my Milwaukee packout system. It's the best mod I've done in decades. All my stuff right at my fingertips and can be removed for cargo or configured any way you want.

Thanks Axe. Yeah. Got a magnaflow on my lowrider, its a good product so probably doing that. Low on my list of things honestly but still there regardless.

The packout system is a pretty good idea. Might do that an a bed cover instead.

Checking into adjustable hitch mounts now. I'm assuming we need somewhere between 8inch to 10inch of a drop.

Probably closer to 8 1/2.

Nah, 6 inches is plenty unless your towing a lowboy trailer. I know some haulers have low ride height, but these 2500HDs squat plenty too. This isn't a normal 2500HD, the rear suspension is soft, that's why it rides so well.

Sage advice. Thanks.

How much does your trailer and lowrider weigh? Do you know the pin weight? I guess if you have and adjustable hitch that does 4-10 inches drop you'll have plenty of wiggle room.

Also get a hitch that has the cut to accommodate folding your multiflex tailgate down. There's some threads on that.

I don't have a car trailer yet. I've been waiting for this truck.

My lowrider probably weights around 1500 pounds over stock. somewhere between 5400-6000ish accounting for the frame reinforcements and all the hydraulics/deep cycle batteries in the trunk. I've not weighted it.

So you'll be over 8K. If your trailer loads right and you can get the weight centered over the dual axles, it should tow well without much squat, if you can keep pin weight down. Otherwise, 8K is about where I like to start using air bags if there's any forward weight bias on the trailer.

I tow a lot of different trailers, so I need airbags to accommodate the different load profiles.
