I am thinking about purchasing a scanner. I would want one that will provide live data along with ABS bleed etc.

Can anyone suggest one?

Thank you.

For ABS brake bleeding you’re going to need a bidirectional OBD device. If you’re on TikTok, they’re always advertising a TopDon bidirectional OBD device. A bidirectional device is going to cost slightly more than a plain OBD code reader.

Is topdon a good brand? I figured it would cost more. Just not sure the difference between brands or what’s good or not.

I have no idea about Topdon’s quality. I only use plug in OBD readers to read and clear coats. I have a Launch scan tool that requires subscription updates for a bidirectional device.

A quick search on Amazon for a bidirectional OBD scan tool returned several results.

I use this one and it is bidirectional so long as the app your using is capable. I use the TorquePro and OBD apps and it does quite a bit, but never messed with brake bleed.

I've heard decent things about TopDon and BlueDriver, but I dont think BS is bidirectional.

I use TorquePro mostly; but its not available on IPhone if he has one. What other apps do you use that are bidirectional? Ive used Gretio in the past for some diesel motors.

If you mean Torque Car Pro it is on iOS. It has crap reviews though. I remember using it years ago when I had android and it being ok.

I may put off this purchase in place of having the truck detailed/paint corrected to get the water marks removed then have it ceramic coated.

Good choice!

A friend went looking for torque on the apple app store and it wasn't coming back in his search....

It’s there.
