If you know the owner you may want to let him know your concerns about the service department. I always try to find a good service tech and tip him for the good work he does. I have had a few different ones and I consider myself lucky as they would always go out of there way to take care of my vehicle and fix everything, even the things I didn’t know about.

100% fact..a good tech worth their weight in gold and a rare breed. most are not mechanics, they are parts changers.

Couldn’t agree more. One of the best diesel mechanics in my area is surprisingly a pretty young wrencher all things considered. He WAS at a dealership for about 7 years, run into the ground and wasn’t allowed to do certain work because of “dealership rules”. He now owns his own shop. That dealership couldn’t offer enough money in the world to get him back. Best part is everyone in about a 15 mile radius now take their business to him. Not because he poached them, but because word of mouth about his work ethic, his honesty, and the fact that he genuinely loves what he does helping people. Hell, even if I can do my own work on my rig, he gets my business.

That’s exactly how I found my Harley mechanic. I won’t let anybody else touch my bike.

Used oil up high?
Obviously,that’s jus sloppy work
Mrs EZ asked me what I thought about someone else doing an oil change on one of my vehicles.
I just said we will see.
I have never brought in any of my vehicles ever to do an oil change.
And this is why.

My other chevy truck I brought into this dealer many many years ago under warranty for a windshield bottle replacement.
Only thing I was charged for was shop supplies.
I go out to my truck and there's a big greasy hand print on my fender.
They said because it was a lifted truck lol.
I said you didn't use any shop supplies.
They offered to wash my truck.
Nope.
