Black OEM Emblems Installed

Received my black OEM ZR2 emblems today. Pulled the chrome ones. Popped the red 2 out and swapped it to the black emblems. The swap is fairly simple. The 2 is held on with a couple of tabs. I removed the 3m tape from the backside of the 2. This reveals the tabs. I used a small screwdriver to push the tabs through. I used a little silicone to help hold the red 2 on the new emblems. Still need to do the grille emblem. The 2 is painted on the black grille emblem. Not sure if I want to paint the red or use red vinyl. Now to change out the Silverado and 6.2L emblems. I really like the contrast on the Summit white.

I used red reflective tape to fill the 2 on the grille. The front emblem is held on with 3m tape. There are no clips, but there are two posts to help line it up.

I swapped mine out also. My truck is the Red Hot color. I left all the oem black and grey like they came. Picked up a black emblem for the multiflex tailgate off ebay. Also got a black silverado off there too. I actually took my flow tide to a body shop to get paint matched. I also took them the ZR2 off of the tailgate to paint. Going to use it for a front license plate. Picking those up tomorrow! Wanted to get rid of the chrome, but I kind of liked the red on the flowtide. So I thought the red might look better then just blacking the flowtide out.

Got my flowtide and my ZR2 badge back from paint.

Not difficult...but you do need a little patience. There are pics of it on the forum removed so you can see where the clips are.

You need a lot of patience! It was tedious work removing the old “2”.

im gonna start with swapping out 6.2l chrome on hood scoop. good job! black looks great.

I just plastidipped all my emblems black. Super easy process. Took me about an hour give or take. I’m very happy with how they came out.

Looks great! I’m probably going to go the same route for the badges except I want to keep the 2 red still. Do you think it’d be too hard to take the plastidip off the 2 without issue?
