Had a chance to size up the 2500HD ZR2 today. It's a big boy and sits nearly as high as my previous HD with 6 inch Cognito lift on 35s. It's four inches taller than my 1500 ZR2 at the door handle. Not sure I think the tires/rims sit wide enough for me. I think some 37'x 13.5 tires are in order.

Good looking truck. Great photo op as well, appreciate the sxs comparison.

I like the headlights on 2500 better, but the open spaces in grill are taller and I think it.looks like that 2020 version that was the worst front end ever.

Yeah, Don't get me wrong I don't think the HD looks bad. It's better than the 2020s. It doesn't look like two front ends stacked on top of each other at least lol. I do like the front end on the 1500s better though. The HD grill just seems huge and I like the way the bumper is cut out of the 1500s for the wheels. It's one of the things that makes the ZR2 stand out over other trims.

Is that at Riverton Chevrolet in South Jordan, UT?

Yes. I was blowing through there on my way from AZ to ND and it was right off the freeway, so I stopped.

The front clip on the HC or the LTZ+ with monochromatic grill looks way better. I was gonna go that route and get the Cognito lift and wheels/tires. Then you end up at the same price. Went back to the ZR2 to see if that suspension is as good as 1500s.

Awesome comparison! Really shows how much taller the HD bodies are. There are things about each that I prefer: I too like the 1500 front end, but they nailed the side profile and proportions of the HD

I didn't order the folding side steps cause I wanted to see how well they hid the frame. They actually look pretty good, so I may go with them. I really like them on the 1500.

Agreed on tire size, never understood why dealers put at least one size smaller tire on trucks than what is actually doable knowing most customers swap them.

That 2500HD ZR2 does look good! These trucks are going to look amazing with bigger tires and aftermarket wheels.

I might go up to 37x13.5s, but it'll be a tight clearance between upper control arm and inside of tire on the Bison rims. Onky about 5/8 inch space with stock 305s. Not sure 38S would go. Plenty of room in wheel well, especially with a leveling kit.

Both look great, but wow does the 1500 look sporty next to the HD!

Yep and the 1500 is 10X more sportier when it comes to ride, suspension, and motor responsiveness!

The HD ZR2 will be sporty when I hook up 15K and head to the dunes!

The ZR2 HD will not fit in my garage. I only tow my boat a few times a year, as its wet docked all summer. It would be overkill for me.

Just wondering if you got a trade in number for your 1500. I know you didn't trade, but figured you might have asked?

I didn't even ask, but the lowest I'd take is $63-65. I see them listed higher than that with no accessories.

I've got $5k worth of stuff added and only 8500 miles. I'll run it until spring and see what it looks like.......then I'll sell it for less cause it'll be older......lol.
