EDIT: 2023 with factory black wheels.

Can someone tell me if the lugs will have to be cut?

If so, do I just Sharpie the depth and hit with a side grinder? (I assume that I should avoid heating these up too much? I know that the metallurgy changes when heat is applied.)

Or, do I just take it to a shop and let them do it correctly?

Thanks!

I went 1.25” BORA’s on a ‘21 AT4 and didn’t have to cut, but not apples to apples as the wheels are different. If no answers, I’d figure out a way to measure the depth of the “pockets” in the wheel where the original lugs will sit from the face that mates up to the spacer. I’d think with 1.5’s you will be fine.

I went with aftermarket wheels to avoid this problem, but you have the gist of it; that’s exactly what a shop will do.
If possible I always run a nut down the threads before cutting, that way when you take the nut off it will roll any distorted threads back into position and make it easier for you to start your lug nuts.
A bandsaw is nice but that’s an awkward position for a full size one so angle grinder or die grinder w/ cutting wheel is probably your best bet.
